The Calhoun Red Devils were the 35-29 winner over the Braxton County Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Calhoun fell just short of Braxton County by a score of 39-36.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Braxton County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bailey Pritt, who scored seven points along with five steals. Pritt is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lila Fitzwater, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Calhoun's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for Braxton County, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun will be home for the holidays to greet Point Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Braxton County will take on Webster County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
