Souderton (Pa.) surprised No. 34
Neshaminy (Langhorne, Pa.) 18-7 on Saturday.
The Indians were up 18-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Anthony Williams in the first quarter.
Williams was the top performer for Souderton. The senior halfback ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
The Redskins'
Hugh Hart was the standout player for his team. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown.
Neshaminy's lone touchdown came on a 22-yard pass from Hart to
Justin Andrews in the fourth quarter.
SHS got revenge for last year's 20-13 loss to NHS with the victory.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Indians, which was coming off a 29-23 defeat at the hands of Unionville in its previous game. The loss comes after Neshaminy defeated Hatboro-Horsham 45-0 last week. The loss snapped the Langhorne school's 2-game winning streak.
Neshaminy (2-1) goes up against William Tennent in a Suburban One - National game matchup next week, while Souderton (2-1) locks horns with Central Bucks West in a Suburban One - Continental game.
