The Tillamook Cheesemakers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 58-49 to St. Helens. Tillamook has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Tillamook saw an underclassman step up: Vivian Vogel scored 29 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vogel has scored all season. Tatum Lancaster was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two blocks.
Tillamook's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-9. As for St. Helens, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.
Tillamook will take on the Seagulls at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seaside presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cheesemakers in Oregon (the Seagulls are ranked 37th, while the Cheesemakers are ranked 130th). As for St. Helens, they will head out on the road to challenge the Fishermen at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Astoria is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games.
