The Aldine Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight defeat. They fell just short of Dekaney by a score of 40-38. Aldine was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played on January 6th.
Despite the defeat, Aldine saw an underclassman step up: Porsha Daniels dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds.
Aldine's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-26. As for Dekaney, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-24.
Aldine will take on the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Benjamin Davis presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Mustangs in Texas (the Falcons are ranked 442nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 1295th). As for Dekaney, they will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eisenhower focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
