The Williamstown Yellowjackets will square off against the Ritchie County Rebels at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Williamstown's hitters haven't  had much luck over their past three  contests, but Tuesday's   match will give them a chance to turn things around.
Williamstown might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  8-1 to Wirt County, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Williamstown got a  massive  performance out of  Gracie Rush, who  went 2-for-3 with four  runs, four  RBI,  and two  doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nevaeh Moore, who  went 1-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Williamstown  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .541. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile,  after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Ritchie County finally came back down to earth  on Thursday. They fell  7-2 to Doddridge County. The loss was the Rebels' first of the season.
 Ritchie County saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Abbigayl Cox, who  got on base  in all three of her plate appearances with one  RBI.
 Williamstown's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Ritchie County, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 3-1.
Tuesday's   contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Williamstown hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Ritchie County struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Williamstown might still be hurting after the  18-6 defeat they got from Ritchie County  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. Can Williamstown avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
