Los Gatos is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Milpitas is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Los Gatos Wildcats will take on the Milpitas Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Los Gatos strolled past Los Altos with points to spare, taking the game 61-46. Given Los Gatos' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while Los Altos is ranked 487th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Los Gatos' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nolan G. koch, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Scotty Brennan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and five steals.
Even though Milpitas has not done well against Mountain View recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Milpitas slipped by Mountain View 50-49.
Los Gatos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Milpitas, their win bumped their record up to an identical 12-3.
Los Gatos came up short against Milpitas in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 60-54. Can Los Gatos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
