Whetstone moved up to 461 from 533 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Columbus City - North. The Braves were able to make the jump by besting Linden-McKinley 34-0.
Brookhaven extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Centennial, 48-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Bearcats.
Beechcroft's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Maurice Hale threw for 267 and seven touchdowns and Khaleed Franklin had 127 yards receiving. On the ground Hale chipped in 169 yards. Darius Ford helped Beechcroft's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 100 yards.
Beechcroft's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cougars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hale has thrown for 1638 yards and 22 touchdowns this season, while Franklin has 33 catches for 710 yards. Hale also leads the league in rushing with 889 yards.
A big matchup in Columbus City - North this week will be when Brookhaven takes on the Cougars. At the moment, Trevor White's team is in third, while Beechcroft is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Bearcats and Bruce Ward's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Brookhaven comes in having scored 263 this season, while the Cougars have scored 277. The Bearcats scored 48 points last week as they bested the Stars.
