Kalida is 9-1 against Continental since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wildcats will be taking part in a tournament against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Kalida is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
Kalida saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Antwerp with a sharp 3-0 win.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Kalida took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-14, 25-11.
Isabel Recker was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 12 assists and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last seven matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Siefker, who had nine digs and one assist.
They weren't the only good servers: Kalida was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Continental was able to grind out a solid victory over St. John's on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1.
Continental got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The final score came out to 26-24, 32-34, 25-23, 25-21.
Kalida's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Continental, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Everything went Kalida's way against Continental in their previous meeting back in September, as Kalida made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
