It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Cape Coral Seahawks can now relate to. They fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 58-56. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cape Coral in their matchups with Fort Myers: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Austin Arringdale-klein, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Arringdale-klein is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Joseph Silva was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Marquielle Tory was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and five steals for Fort Myers. Tory is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Thelusma, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Cape Coral's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Fort Myers, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-11.
Cape Coral does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Myers, they will face off against Charlotte at TBD on Saturday. Averaging 54.33 points so far this season, Charlotte's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Fort Myers better be ready for a challenge.
