North Sanpete is 4-0 against Ben Lomond since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The North Sanpete Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Ben Lomond Scots at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully North Sanpete focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 two weeks ago.
Two weeks ago, North Sanpete took a serious blow against Grantsville, falling 67-40.
Cole Cook put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Ridge Hendry, who scored 8 points.
Meanwhile, Ben Lomond was able to grind out a solid victory over Gunnison Valley on Saturday, taking the game 53-40. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ben Lomond.
Ben Lomond's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jonathan Alcarez, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. The matchup was Alcarez's third in a row with at least ten points. Malakai Mack was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
With North Sanpete's victory and Grantsville's defeat, both teams now sport identical 1-1 records.
Everything came up roses for North Sanpete against Ben Lomond in their previous matchup back in February as the team secured a 68-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Sanpete since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
