Teays Valley had to start their season on the road  on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were beaten by the Grove City Greyhounds 42-7. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  28-0.
  Brady Farmer threw for 69 yards  on ten of 20 attempts.  
 Luke Burgett was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards.  On the ground, 
 Spike Woods rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
  Ayden Mckinstry went supernova for Grove City, rushing for 180 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Mckinstry really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 73-yard run.  Carson Welsh was another key player, throwing for 223 yards and three touchdowns.
 Teays Valley will venture away from home to  square off against Bloom-Carroll  at 8:00  p.m.  on Friday. Teays Valley is looking for their season?s first  victory. As for Grove City, they are headed away from home for the first time to  face off against  Westland  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
