There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. The action included a dizzyingly high 107-point combined score from Heritage and Jefferson Forest.
Can't Touch This
Dinwiddie's 35 - 0 win over Colonial Heights last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Cirdale Lucess. Lucess earned four touchdowns and 195 yards rushing the ball. That performance landed Lucess among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Broad Run and Stone Bridge, 5th and 10th in the power rankings, respectively. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Broad Run beat Stone Bridge 26 - 20. Broad Run saw its record improve to 10-1 and its power rank jump four places as a result.
Look Out Below
The dubious honor of 'biggest faller' in the power rankings this week goes to Centreville, who dropped down ten spots after its game against Madison. Centreville wasn't able to scrape together any points, falling to Madison 14 - 0. Centreville unfortunately couldn't repeat the imposing 49-point effort it came up with in its previous game.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Glass (11th in the MaxPreps state rankings) and Byrd (76th). Glass is backed by a win while Byrd is motivated by a recent defeat.
