The Churchill Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Churchill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Bethesda-Chevy Chase likes a good challenge.
Churchill pushed their score all the way to 65 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Whitman. While losing is never fun, Churchill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Whitman is ranked 49th).
Meanwhile, Bethesda-Chevy Chase didn't have too much trouble with Walter Johnson on the road last Friday as they won 66-47.
Churchill's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Churchill couldn't quite finish off Bethesda-Chevy Chase in their previous matchup back in January and fell 71-68. Can Churchill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
