Blanco and Llano are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Blanco Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Llano Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Blanco will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.
Blanco is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Ingram Moore with a sharp 32-9 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Panthers have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, everything went Llano's way against Comfort on Monday as Llano made off with a 17-1 win. While fans of the Yellowjackets might be used to big wins, the 16-run margin marked the team's biggest one yet.
Jayme Duroy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Duroy was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emilie Clopton, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Karli Wyatt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Llano kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.6.
The victory made it two in a row for Llano and bumps their season record up to 6-12. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Blanco, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
Blanco couldn't quite get it done against Llano in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 11-7. Can Blanco avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
