There may have been other bowl games in the past that ended up being a battle where the winner was going to win the national championship. But Monday's big game in Arlington, Texas will be the first time that each team fighting for the title had to win a semifinal to get there.
The 2015 College Football Playoff National Championship between Oregon and Ohio State will feature the best of the Ducks and the best of the Buckeyes. But what about next year, and the years in the near future?
