El Dorado Christian is 0-10 against Center Place since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the El Dorado Christian Buffalos will head out on the road to face off against Center Place at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
El Dorado Christian suffered their biggest defeat since January 5th on Thursday. They were beaten by Berean Christian Academy 54-20. El Dorado Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-8.
Despite the loss, El Dorado Christian had strong showings from Breann Reasoner, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds, and Sophia Bryson, who scored no points. Reasoner is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games she's played.
Meanwhile, Center Place's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 49-16 loss at the hands of Christian Learning Center. While losing is never fun, Center Place can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 411th in Missouri, while Christian Learning Center is ranked 90th in Kansas).
Center Place's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Isabelle Howen, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Rylie Kroesen who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Center Place smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Learning Center only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
El Dorado Christian now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Center Place, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: El Dorado Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Center Place struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
El Dorado Christian took a serious blow against Center Place when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 47-19. Thankfully for El Dorado Christian, Mia Smith (who scored 21 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
