After losing to the St. John the Baptist Cougars the last time they met, the St. Anthony's Friars decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. St. Anthony's narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past St. John the Baptist 54-51.
St. Anthony's found their leader in underclassman Kevin Moore, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Connor Mannix was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
St. Anthony's has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for St. John the Baptist, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Anthony's will take on St. Dominic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully St. Anthony's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for St. John the Baptist, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Kellenberg Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on February 16th.
