6A Region 1 recap September 4, 2013
Darrell Henderson of South Panola ran for the longest rushing play in 6A Region 1 this season against West Point last week. Henderson scampered for 68 yards on the play and finished with 185 on the day as his team topped the Green Wave.
Southaven was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Trezevant. The Chargers came in at 21 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
Rip Kirk and Henderson gave South Panola a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Teammate Roosevelt Jones added to the ground attack by rushing for 45 yards.
Kirk and Henderson gave Lance Pouge's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.
Henderson was a passing and rushing force as the Tigers bested West Point. Henderson's favorite target this week was Henderson, who caught 4 passes for 60 yards.
Steven Bradley was the best receiver in the league this week as DeSoto Central beat Lewisburg. Bradley tallied 5 receptions for 106 yards. Grant Kimberlin helped DeSoto Central's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 35 yards.

Kirk put up the best numbers through the air as South Panola bested Chris Chambless' team. He had a total of 9 completions for 154 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Ross Trail of Olive Branch is the league leader in passing yards this season with 332. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Mark Partee. The DeSoto Central star has 7 catches for 176 yards.
The Conquistadors took down Raleigh-Egypt 71-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Trail threw for 115 yards in the win.
