Spackenkill is 8-2 against Onteora since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Spackenkill Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Onteora Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Spackenkill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Wednesday.
Spackenkill couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by Marlboro Central 66-27. Spackenkill was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-8.
Despite the loss, Spackenkill got a solid performance out of Maryclare Parker-stark, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Onteora didn't have too much trouble with Rondout Valley at home on Tuesday as they won 37-21.
Spackenkill's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Onteora, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Spackenkill beat Onteora 44-36 when the teams last played back in January. Does Spackenkill have another victory up their sleeve, or will Onteora turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
