The Mifflin Punchers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Columbus International by a score of 77-65. The win was nothing new for Mifflin as they're now sitting on four straight.
Leading Mifflin to victory were Mike Woodyard and John Glover. Woodyard scored 23 points along with five rebounds, while Glover scored 24 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Woodyard scored 15 or more points. Bj Woody was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Columbus International still got an impressive performance from KJ Jones, who scored 38 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. That's the first time this season that Jones posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Pharoahe Zaire, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Mifflin's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Columbus International, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mifflin will take on Linden-McKinley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbus International won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Marion-Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Marion-Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday.
