The Rocky Mount Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Lawrence Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Rocky Mount Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They blew past Harrells Christian Academy 8-1. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won four in a row.

Berkeley Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 19 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Ryleigh Evans and Bailee Allen did most of the damage at the plate: Evans went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Allen scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that Allen snagged this season.
Rocky Mount Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Crusaders 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Like Rocky Mount Academy, Lawrence Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Clair Ferebee. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Ferebee has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hallie Mizelle, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Jaslene Ethridge was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Lawrence Academy's record now sits at 10-3. As for Rocky Mount Academy, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
