Basketball Recap: Centennial Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Centennial won the last time they faced Centura and things went their way on Friday too. The Centennial Broncos came out on top against the Centura Centurions by a score of 44-37. The victory was nothing new for the Broncos as they're now sitting on three straight.

Centennial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Devin Slawnyk, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 boards. Slawnyk is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least 11 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Winkelman, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Centura's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Barrett Fries, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. Mason Gorecki was another key player, putting up five points and six boards.

Centennial's record is now 9-3. As for Centura, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

Centennial won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Central City at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Central City will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Centennial surely won't give up without a fight. As for Centura, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Cozad at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Cozad is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.1 points per game this season.
