It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Western Indians ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Whiteoak and snuck past 72-70. Western's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Leading Western to victory were Kam Janes and Drew Haggy. Janes dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Haggy scored 31 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. The matchup was Janes' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cutter Clay, who scored 8 points.
Western's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Whiteoak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
Western will be playing in front of their home fans against South Webster at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Whiteoak, they will head out on the road to face off against East Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
