Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Lutheran Northwest's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

While Lutheran Northwest put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Parkway Christian. The Crusaders were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Eagles. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by ten runs or more this season.

Lutheran Northwest got a massive performance out of Grace Fink, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those doubles were Fink's first of the season. Alyssa Parets was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lutheran Northwest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive contests.

Lutheran Northwest is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Parkway Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Lutheran Northwest will be playing in front of their home fans against Shrine Catholic at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Crusaders will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last eight matches. As for Parkway Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Detroit Cristo Rey at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
