The Chicago Marshall Commandos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season. They breezed by Manley at home to the tune of 51-11. With Chicago Marshall ahead 24-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Chicago Marshall found their leader in underclassman Alysha Murphy, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. Murphy continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiyah Green, who scored 17 points.
Chicago Marshall pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Manley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chicago Marshall will take on Bloom at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Bloom presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chicago Marshall in Illinois (Bloom is ranked 126th, while Chicago Marshall is ranked 301st). As for Manley, they will head out on the road to face off against Uplift at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
