The Rancho Rams will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars at 3:30 p.m. Rancho will be strutting in after a win while Pinecrest Academy Cadence will be coming in after a loss.
Rancho is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Cimarron-Memorial on Wednesday. Rancho blew past Cimarron-Memorial 9-1. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Brooklynn Braun was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Annalise Stout, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Alainna Weber was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Pinecrest Academy Cadence lost 31-16 to Durango on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly 15 runs.
Ava Englestead led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emily Shelley, who scored three runs and stole six bases while going 3-for-3.
Even though they lost, Pinecrest Academy Cadence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Pinecrest Academy Cadence has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. Rancho picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-4.
Everything went Rancho's way against Pinecrest Academy Cadence in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Rancho made off with a 15-0 victory. Does Rancho have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pinecrest Academy Cadence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
