The Cromwell Panthers were the 44-26 winner over the Newtown Nighthawks when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Cromwell had to suffer through a rough 48-20 loss at the hands of Newtown.
Peyton Kelleher was Cromwell's leading scorer, having posted ten points.
Sadie Rau held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.
Cromwell's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Newtown, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Cromwell will take on Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Newtown, they will head out on the road to face off against West Haven at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
