The Twin Valley Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-28 walloping at the hands of Green Mountain. Twin Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Green Mountain apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Twin Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brayden Brown, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Brown scored a full 35.7% of Twin Valley's points, the eighth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Magnant, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Twin Valley were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Twin Valley bumped their record down to 4-4 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Green Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twin Valley will take on Rivendell Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Rivendell Academy is ranked 33rd in New Hampshire, while Twin Valley is ranked 30th in Vermont). As for Green Mountain, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Leland & Gray at 7:00 p.m.
