 On Richland County's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Cooper Hires, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Gavin Root, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Herrin's loss dropped their record down to 1-6-1. As for Richland County, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
 Herrin will stay at home for another  game and welcome Vienna at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. Herrin has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Richland County, they are on the road again  on Monday to play Mattoon at 4:30  p.m. Mattoon will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  victory, something Richland County surely won't give up without a fight.
