After a string of four wins, Fleming's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 43-34 to the Godwin Eagles. The contest marked the Colonels' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Fleming's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Godwin, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Fleming will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on William Byrd at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Godwin will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Thomas Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Thomas Jefferson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Godwin likes a good challenge.
