It's playoff time, and Hanover Central had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  6-5  victory over the Illiana Christian Vikings  on Tuesday. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Jillian Deyoung made a big impact no matter where she played. She  struck out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Deyoung was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since May 5th.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Sienna Stilley, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  home run and four  RBI.  Sienna Antkiewicz also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  triple of the season.
 Hanover Central was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .407. They are 10-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The  victory  got Hanover Central back to even at 12-12. As for Illiana Christian,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 18-10.
 Hanover Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  6-0  win against Kankakee Valley on the 29th. Illiana Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
