Jersey Village has gone a perfect 10-0 against Cypress Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Jersey Village not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 24th. They were the clear victors by a 17-9 margin over Cypress Falls. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Taylor Paulk, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Jordyn Battise was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Cypress Ridge got the win against Northbrook on Tuesday by a conclusive 16-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.
Edelin Barrios made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Barrios was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Ariel Arambula was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Priscilla Garza, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.
Cypress Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.8.
Jersey Village's record now sits at 8-16. As for Cypress Ridge, their record is now 6-13.
Jersey Village skirted past Cypress Ridge 6-5 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
