Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Shaylee Barrett and Maya Layton Lead Lafayette Jefferson to Victory

Lafayette Jefferson hadn't done well against Lebanon recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos came out on top against the Lebanon Tigers by a score of 43-31. This was payback for the Bronchos, who suffered a 65-25 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lafayette Jefferson was led to victory by Maya Layton and Shaylee Barrett. Layton went 6 of 13 en route to 15 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Barrett posted 17 points along with six boards and three steals. Layton has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played.

Lafayette Jefferson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive games.
