Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Oak Grove extended their home winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Emma Hadley. The Oak Grove Grizzlies took down the Central Davidson Spartans 52-38 on Friday thanks in part to Hadley, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. Those 21 points gave her a new career-high.

Cora Hadley was another key player, going 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. She also posted a block, marking her first of the season.

Despite the defeat, Central Davidson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bethany Myers dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Myers. Another player making a difference was Lauren Chesney, who posted three points and five boards.

Oak Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Central Davidson, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Grove will challenge Asheboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Davidson, they will face off against Ledford at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ledford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.
