Baseball Recap: Tocoi Creek Has No Trouble Against Orange Park

Tocoi Creek lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Orange Park, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's matchup. Tocoi Creek blew past Orange Park 8-2 on Monday. The Toros might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Tommy Glasspoole and Kamden Milner made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Glasspoole struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Milner struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, Glasspoole gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February. At bat, Glasspoole went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Milner scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Milner has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Micha Hernandez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Jackson Sizemore was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Tocoi Creek moved to 14-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Orange Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Tocoi Creek will head out on the road to challenge West Nassau at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Tocoi Creek 3.6, West Nassau 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Orange Park, they will host Englewood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
