Baseball Recap: Cheney Has No Trouble Against Trinity Academy

Cheney got themselves on the board against Trinity Academy on Thursday, but Trinity Academy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Knights. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Josh Burdick made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over 6.1 innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cheney got a massive performance out of Kaden Ludwig, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Cameron Eastman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.

Cheney's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Trinity Academy, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 13-1 and their overall record down to 17-4.

Looking ahead, Cheney will venture away from home to take on El Dorado at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Trinity Academy, they will host Douglass on Monday.
