The Coppell Cowboys put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Flower Mound, posting a 51-21 win at home. The result was nothing new for Coppell, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Edward Griffin was his usual excellent self, throwing for 296 yards and six touchdowns while completing 80.8% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Baron Tipton, who picked up 84 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Coppell's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-2 Lewisville and 8-2 Sachse (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 68% over those games). As for Flower Mound, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Coppell will head out on the road to face off against Plano on Friday. Plano is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Flower Mound, they will be playing at home against Plano West on Friday. Plano West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 533rd, while Flower Mound is ranked 178th).
