Sturgeon is 2-8 against New Franklin since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Sturgeon Bulldogs will be playing at home against the New Franklin Bulldogs at 7:30  p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
 Last Tuesday, Sturgeon was able to grind out a solid  win over Community, taking the game  46-35.
  Isaac Bolles continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines,  scoring 22 points along with five  rebounds and two  steals. He is on a roll when it comes to  steals, as he's  now  grabbed two or more in the last three games he's  played.  Connor Lawson was another key contributor,  scoring eight points along with seven  rebounds.
 Meanwhile, New Franklin earned a  63-51 win over Slater  on Tuesday. Given New Franklin's advantage  in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings  (they are ranked 129th, while Slater is ranked 437th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Sturgeon is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matches,  which provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season. As for New Franklin, their win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 19-3.
 Sturgeon took a serious blow against New Franklin  in their previous matchup  back in January, falling  66-37. The  match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sturgeon was down  32-12.
