Tatnall is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Wilmington Charter is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tatnall Hornets will take on the Wilmington Charter Force at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Tatnall: 5.8, Wilmington Charter: 10.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Tatnall had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They blew past the Indians 28-7. Tatnall might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 11 matches by 21 points or more this season.
Rahshan Lamons continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 184 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry, and also throwing for 54 yards and a touchdown on only five passes. Lamons' longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards.
Meanwhile, Wilmington Charter got themselves on the board against Polytech on Friday, but Polytech never followed suit. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 10-0. Ten seems to be a good number for Wilmington Charter as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wilmington Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady harach, who gained 133 total yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Wilmington Charter's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Joshua Pullin and Finn Sclavounos who racked up four sacks between them.
Their wins bumped Tatnall to 11-1 and Indian River to 8-4.
Everything came up roses for Tatnall against Wilmington Charter in their previous meeting on November 4th as the squad secured a 52-0 victory. Will Tatnall repeat their success, or does Wilmington Charter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
