The Baldwin Indians will head out on the road to take on the Englewood Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Baldwin has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Baldwin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 59-58 photo finish over West Nassau. Baldwin's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Baldwin's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Nyrie Gabriel, who scored 17 points along with four steals and two blocks, and Janiylah Stallworth, who scored 19 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stallworth has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Danasia Baxter, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Englewood suffered their biggest defeat since November 27, 2023 on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 58-12 loss at the hands of ED White. Englewood has struggled against ED White recently, as their contest on Monday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Baldwin's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Englewood, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-12.
Baldwin strolled past Englewood in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 45-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Baldwin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
