The Faith Christian Eagles will take on the West Central Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Faith Christian will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Faith Christian got the win against Attica by a conclusive 3-0.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Faith Christian was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-6, 25-10.
Faith Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anna Conley led the charge by getting five aces and three assists. That's the most aces Conley has posted over her last six contests. Caya Stillings was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Faith Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, West Central hadn't done well against Caston recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 3-0 win. The Trojans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 21st (when they won 3-0).
West Central's got stronger as the match went on, holding Caston to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 25-17.
Faith Christian better focus on containing Macie Allen and Ellyse Sparks as the pair were huge in West Central's win. Allen had 23 digs, while Sparks had 14 digs.
Faith Christian's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for West Central, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Everything went Faith Christian's way against West Central in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Faith Christian made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
