Basketball Game Preview: South Pasadena Tigers vs. Temple City Rams

South Pasadena has gone 9-1 against Temple City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The South Pasadena Tigers will welcome the Temple City Rams at 7:00 p.m. South Pasadena knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Temple City likes a good challenge.

On Wednesday, South Pasadena didn't have too much breathing room in their game against La Canada, but they still walked away with a 63-59 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Spartans are ranked 67th).

Jack Madison was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 14 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Miles Nowe was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

South Pasadena smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Temple City lost to Blair on the road by a 63-47 margin on Wednesday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

South Pasadena has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Temple City, their loss dropped their record down to 10-15.

Everything came up roses for South Pasadena against Temple City in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the squad secured a 78-33 victory. Will South Pasadena repeat their success, or does Temple City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
