Pioneer is 9-1 against the Rattlers since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Pioneer Diamondbacks will head out on the road to face off against the Sharyland Rattlers at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Pioneer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Last Friday, Pioneer was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-47 to the Sabercats. Pioneer has not had much luck with the Sabercats recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Pioneer's loss came about despite a quality game from Julian Valdez, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valdez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Edward Chavez, who scored five points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sharyland ended up a good deal behind the Warriors last Friday and lost 51-32.
Pioneer's defeat dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Sharyland, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.
Pioneer skirted past the Rattlers 48-45 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pioneer since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
