3A Region III District 21 recap September 17, 2013
Buna scaled the state rankings by moving to 402 from 498 this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region III District 21. The Cougars climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Liberty 34-28.
West Orange-Stark was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. The Mustangs vanquished Beaumont Central 31-7 earlier in the week.

Keaton Langston was the best receiver in the league this week as Bridge City defeated Kelly Catholic. Langston tallied 2 receptions for 37 yards. Malcolm Busby helped Bridge City's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 38 yards.
Jonah Lemoine was the best running back in 3A Region III District 21 this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 87 yards as the Cardinals topped the Bulldogs. Teammate Chase Shugart added to the ground attack by rushing for 49 yards.
Shugart provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bridge City bested Kelly Catholic.
Dillon Sterling-Cole put up the best numbers in passing as Cornel Thompson's team beat Beaumont Central. He had a total of 7 completions for 73 yards.
Cris Stump's team's Shugart and Busby have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Shugart has thrown for 340 yards this season, while Busby has 7 catches for 166 yards. Chris James from the Mustangs leads the league in rushing with 288 yards.
Orangefield lost to Newton 36-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
