The Pierce Bears will be playing at home against the Durham Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Pierce's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Durham has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Pierce put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to East Nicolaus for the full four quarters, racking up a 28-0 victory on the road. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Pierce had established a 21 point advantage.
Pierce relied on the efforts of Austin Jorge, who threw for 57 yards and two touchdowns, and Nathaniel Macintosh, who picked up 43 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Durham ended up a good deal behind Winters on Friday and lost 20-6.
Pierce's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Durham, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
