The Chaparral Firebirds will venture away from home to take on the Fairfax Stampede at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chaparral took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They took down Paradise Valley 42-27.

Chaparral can attribute much of their success to Kaelie Weishaar, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Kendyll Dinh, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. That's the most rebounds Dinh has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Samantha Zadrozny, who earned four points.
Meanwhile, Fairfax entered their tilt with Carl Hayden Community two weeks ago with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 73-13 win over the Falcons. The Stampede have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 31 points or more this season.
Fairfax's win came from a few key players Chaparral will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mayega Enow, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 16 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last six games she's played. Jaelynn Harvey was another key player, on her way to 20 points and six boards.
Fairfax was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carl Hayden Community only one assist.
Fairfax's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.8 points over those games. As for Chaparral, their record is now 10-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Chaparral has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 30.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fairfax struggles in that department as they've been averaging 42.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Chaparral against Fairfax in their previous meeting back in January of 2015, as the team secured a 67-39 win. Does Chaparral have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fairfax turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
