Don't be fooled by the insanely high score: we promise Deer Trail and Colorado School for the Deaf Blind were playing football. Deer Trail made easy work of Colorado School for the Deaf Blind last Friday and carried off a 69-46 win. Senior Brandon Fernandez-Herrera, who picked up 236 yards on the ground and snatched 4 receiving TDs, was a major factor in Deer Trail's success. Fernandez-Herrera has been a consistent playmaker for Deer Trail as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Cripple Creek-Victor, and their matchup last Saturday only extended their streak of losses to six. They were completely outmatched, falling 7-68 to Mountain Valley.
Deer Trail's victory lifted them to 4-2 while Cripple Creek-Victor's loss dropped them down to 0-6. We'll find out if Deer Trail can add another positive mark to their record or if Cripple Creek-Victor can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Deer Trail's step.
