The Reedy Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Creekview Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Reedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
Reedy can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-40 win over Turner. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 12 more assists than your opponent, as Reedy did.
Rylen Mitro was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Ford, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Creekview pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 75-55 defeat at the hands of Frisco. While losing is never fun, Creekview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 604th, while the Raccoons are ranked 255th).
Reedy's victory bumped their record up to 11-17. As for Creekview, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-15.
Everything went Reedy's way against the Mustangs in their previous meeting back in January as the Lions made off with a 77-53 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Reedy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
