Basketball Game Preview: Hardin Northern Polar Bears vs. Temple Christian Pioneers

The Hardin Northern Polar Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Temple Christian Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Saturday, Hardin Northern took a blow against Arlington, falling 72-36. The Polar Bears haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Hardin Northern's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Xander Wilson, who went 7 for 17 en route to 20 points and six rebounds, and Mason Stewart, who posted four points. Stewart is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Temple Christian made easy work of Ridgedale on Tuesday and carried off a 54-30 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pioneers.

Temple Christian has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Hardin Northern, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Hardin Northern didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Temple Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 53-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hardin Northern since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
