Softball Recap: Ocoee's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Ocoee finally came back down to earth on Monday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Windermere Wolverines. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Amber Vance spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trista Fitzpatrick made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Ocoee's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Windermere, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Ocoee and Windermere should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Knights (ranked 186th) will meet Lake Buena Vista (ranked 404th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Windermere will face off against Wekiva at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (158 vs. 478).
